Free Avira AntiVir now available in French
The globally popular anti-virus software wards off malware and protects against phishing attacks
Tettnang, 2 December 2008 – The free version of Avira’s anti-virus software is now available in French as well as the existing German and English versions. The software that carries the seal of quality “IT Security made in Germany” provides free protection for all private users and puts a stop to digital threats from the Internet. In addition to protecting against all types of malware, Avira AntiVir, also protects home PCs against dialers, hidden programs called rootkits and phishing attacks. The German anti-virus specialist Avira is on a course of international expansion and launched the commercial virus protection version for end-users in France midyear. The IT security specialist from Tettnang offer WebGuard in the commercial versions, Avira AntiVir Premium and Avira Premium Security Suite, which examines http based Internet traffic against infections and provides more security for online transactions or e-commerce. The Suite includes a personal firewall and antispam. A license for the French product for one year can be obtained from the Avira Online Shop for 19,95 or 39,95 euro.
The endpoint and gateway security products for businesses and authorities will be released early in 2009. Avira plans expansion in to France with the opening of a sales office in the coming year. This initiative expressly declares that the anti-virus software Avira AntiVir does not have hidden user identification or access mechanisms for private and professional users.
